Bunzl & Biach

Bunzl & Biach is one of the biggest and most significant RCF Waste Management companies in Austria, it also trades in RCF (Recovered Fibre).

The history of Bunzl & Biach in Austria goes back to the second half of the 19th century. The paper mill in Ortmann was taken over by Bunzl in the year 1888.
This paper mill already used RCF material in their paper production. Over the years they developed their own collection, handling and truck fleet in Vienna and Linz which was established due to increasing RCF demand. These companies were operated until 1990 as departments of the paper mill Bunzl & Biach AG in Ortmann (today SCA Hygiene Austria GmbH). An independent company (Bunzl & Biach GmbH) was established in 1990 as a result of several reorganisations and ownership changes.
SCA Hygiene Products GmbH (Ortmann) with 50% and SCA Graphic Paper AG (Laakirchen) with 50% are now owner of Bunzl & Biach GmbH.
A second subsidiary in Vienna was opened in 1994.
Bunzl & Biach expanded their operations in 2003 by providing a service for the archival storage of files in the central archive in Vienna.

Today Bunzl & Biach employees around 160 people in Vienna and Linz, they carry out the important function of supporting the RCF supply to SCA paper mills.
Bunzl & Biach handles approx. 490.000 tons RCF material a year. It offers services ranging from data security, file destruction, a full range of waste management services and the recycling of materials such as waste material from industry, bulky waste, timber, toner, metal waste, etc.
